I became a primary care family nurse practitioner after working for a decade as a registered nurse because I wanted to be able to treat my patients with more flexibility. I love what I do because it allows me to help people achieve their own health goals. I’m a well-rounded practitioner who can care for patients of all ages, but I have a special passion for – as well as experience and training in – treating older adults. They often must manage complex, age-related health conditions or illnesses such as diabetes or heart disease. When I visit with older patients, I love hearing their wisdom and stories. In turn, they tell me I’m a great listener who shows compassion as we consider how to maintain, and often improve, the way they feel on a day-to-day basis so they can keep up with activities they enjoy. Outside of work, I love fishing, camping and desert activities with my family. We’re big Arizona Diamondback fans – we never miss a game.
