For more than 30 years, I’ve been caring for women’s health in Tucson. No two days have been the same.

I identify with my patients, because as a woman, I am one of my patients. Like a tour guide, I help women navigate every age and stage throughout the female life cycle – and my end goal is to help patients devise the best routes to take excellent care of themselves. You can’t fight nature, so it’s important to work with her – and embrace her.

I chose my specialty because reproductive health is life-defining for all women – and affects our overall well-being in countless ways. Each woman has unique, personal health goals and concerns, and my job is to help educate and collaborate with her so she’s confident about the benefits and risks of every choice she makes. I provide the advice, treatment, or procedure, but fundamentally, the patient is in charge of her own journey.

I always say that your overall health doesn’t always rest on the big, one-time decisions you make – but on the small choices about what you do every single day to take care of your mind, body, and spirit. Your whole being is constantly “talking to itself.” For example, you can’t keep poor nutrition or overwhelming stress a secret from your ovaries.

My patients say they know I care – I invite them to feel comfortable, and I’m always honest with them, as I encourage them to be accountable to themselves.

When I’m not at work, I enjoy reading, golfing, hiking, and playing piano
